Apalachee came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Clarke Central Gladiators. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 last Wednesday.

Apalachee's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Russell Malcom, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Malcom hit this season.

The victory got Apalachee back to even at 7-7. As for Clarke Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Apalachee will challenge Winder-Barrow at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. As for Clarke Central, they will square off against Jackson County at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. Jackson County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
