Baseball Recap: Manawa Triumphs

Manawa was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Port Edwards Blackhawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since April 8, 2025.

Brody Rosin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Manawa let Carson Stroud and Antonio Patino run wild. Stroud went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Patino got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Patino a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Pamperin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Manawa's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-15. As for Port Edwards, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Looking ahead, Manawa will challenge Green Lake/Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigersharks have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. Port Edwards does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
