Basketball Preview: Clarion Area Bobcats vs. Cranberry Area Berries
Clarion Area has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Cranberry Area Berries at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cranberry Area took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Clarion Area, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Clarion Area didn't have too much trouble with the Raiders at home as they won 45-30.
Meanwhile, Cranberry Area's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 47-12 loss at the hands of Brookville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cranberry Area has scored all season.
Clarion Area pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Cranberry Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Clarion Area strolled past the Berries in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 46-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clarion Area since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
