Softball Recap: Gatewood's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Gatewood blew Southland Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Southland Academy got their revenge. The Gators fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 10-8. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Gators, who until this contest were averaging 3.5 runs allowed.

Lily Arthur was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie McMillian, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gatewood fell to 3-1. As for Southland Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Gatewood will take on Stratford Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southland Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Pataula Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
