Baseball Recap: Dutchtown Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lovejoy

There's no place like home for Dutchtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Lovejoy Wildcats 13-3 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Wildcats last Wednesday, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Trejean Webb, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Dutchtown is 5-1 when Webb posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kayden Carter, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Dutchtown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lovejoy only posted an OBP of .375.

Dutchtown's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 7-15. As for Lovejoy, they moved to 8-10-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dutchtown will host LeFlore at 11:00 a.m. on the 12th. As for Lovejoy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on McIntosh at 5:55 p.m. on the 15th.
