Soccer Recap: Oakdale Beats Manteca for Their Third Straight Win

Oakdale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They beat the Manteca Buffaloes by a goal, winning 1-0. Even though the Mustangs got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Lyndee Cox was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Oakdale's one-goal win came courtesy of Ceci Cotton, who's now up to five this season.

Oakdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Manteca, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9-2.

Coincidentally, Oakdale and Manteca will both be playing Sierra the next time they take the pitch. Manteca will host Sierra at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Oakdale will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 29th.
