Softball Recap: Savannah Wins Going Away Against St. Pius X

Savannah got themselves on the board against St. Pius X on Wednesday, but St. Pius X never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Savages in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Savannah got a great performance from Emma McMullan as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Baya Fox was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Musser, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Savannah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-4. As for St. Pius X, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, St. Pius X will take on St. Michael the Archangel at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Guardians have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. Savannah will be paying especially close attention to St. Pius X's game: after St. Pius X faces off against St. Michael the Archangel, they'll take on Savannah again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
