Football Recap: New Castle Skates Past Knoch with Ease

New Castle put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They breezed past the Knoch Knights to the tune of 45-0. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Knights are ranked 444th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marino Graham had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 221 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 123 yards and three TDs. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

Graham was just one part of a punishing run game: New Castle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 383 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

New Castle's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Knoch, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

New Castle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-12 win against Aliquippa on the 26th. As for Knoch, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-14 defeat against Indiana on the 26th.
