Volleyball Recap: East Comes Up Short

East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

While East had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19.

Claire Buss paced East's offense, picking up seven kills. Buss got some help from Birdie Buell and her 13 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Deutsch, who had 14 digs.

East's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Trinity Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4.

Coming up, East will square off against Kapaun Mt. Carmel at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trinity Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Abilene on the 11th.
