Preview: Minarets Mustangs vs. McLane Highlanders
After two games on the road, Minarets is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the McLane Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Minarets was able to grind out a solid win over Laton, taking the game 29-17. The win was just what Minarets needed coming off of a 53-18 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, McLane didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fresno Christian on Friday, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory.
Minarets' victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for McLane, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4.
Minarets won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, slipping by McLane 65-64. Will Minarets repeat their success, or does McLane have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
