Soccer Game Preview: Downey vs. Gregori

Downey is 2-8 against Gregori since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Downey Knights will be playing at home against the Gregori Jaguars at 6:00 p.m.

Downey is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 6-2 margin over Modesto on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Their offense was hitting Modesto from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Sofia Rosemire led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Gregori hasn't lost a match since December 5, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. Neither they nor Enochs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Downey's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-8-1. Gregori's draw makes their record 11-1-1 this season.
