Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Fairmont Prep's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

On Tuesday, the Fairmont Prep Huskies beat the Palos Verdes Sea Kings 66-54. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Sea Kings are ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Sarah Aldeguer, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 boards. Those 30 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adyra Rajan, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Fairmont Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Fairmont Prep has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Palos Verdes, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-7 record.

Fairmont Prep has already played their next match, a 67-60 loss against San Clemente on the 24th. As for Palos Verdes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-48 defeat against South on the 24th.
