Basketball Game Preview: Dublin Gaels vs. California Grizzlies

Dublin is 2-8 against California since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dublin Gaels will take on the California Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. Dublin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Dublin will head into Saturday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 22) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Freedom 44-41.

Meanwhile, California posted their biggest win since December 4, 2024 on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 63-22 victory over Amador Valley. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Dons are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

California's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Dublin, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Dublin came up short against California when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 48-38. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of California's Lauren Yee, who posted 12 points along with seven steals and five boards.
