Softball Recap: Arvada Wins Going Away Against Jefferson

Arvada won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Saints 22-7. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 14 contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Moreno was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moreno was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Arvada got a massive performance out of Lydia Anton, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Anton a new career-high. Salem Duran was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.

Arvada was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Arvada's record is now 15-3. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Arvada will square off against Denver North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson, they will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
