Basketball Recap: Jefferson Skates Past Maywood Academy with Ease

Jefferson was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Maywood Academy on Friday. The Jefferson Democrats breezed by the Maywood Academy Nighthawks to the tune of 42-8. For the Democrats, this counts as revenge for the 76-28 win the Nighthawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2019.

The victory got Jefferson back to even at 1-1. As for Maywood Academy, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1.

Jefferson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Manual Arts at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Maywood Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Animo Watts at 2:30 p.m.
