Football Recap: Anna Skates Past Lovejoy with Ease + How To Watch

Anna lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lovejoy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Coyotes blew past the Leopards 45-14 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Coyotes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Leopards are ranked 63rd).

Ziondre Williams had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 203 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 267 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. His longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Anna's leading receiver Roaen Nylander was Williams' top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Anna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lovejoy only rushed for 162 rushing yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Anna's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jaden Parker, Ryan Tsutsumi, and Shamar Boykins, who each picked up one sack apiece. Anna got some further help from Parker: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Lovejoy lost, don't look at Jacob Janecek. Despite the final result, he threw for 166 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 79 yards on only ten carries.

Anna's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.6 points over those games. As for Lovejoy, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 2-2.

Coincidentally, Anna and Lovejoy will both be playing Melissa the next time they take the field. The Coyotes will host the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Leopards will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
