Softball Recap: Newton County Academy Falls to Laurel Christian in First Game of Season

Newton County Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laurel Christian Lions. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Laurel Christian pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newton County Academy will square off against rival Meridian HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Laurel Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Prentiss Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
