Soccer Recap: Effingham County Comes Up Short

Effingham County lost against Camden County back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Camden County Wildcats who were credited with the win. The Camden County Wildcats got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Effingham County Rebels' three. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 19th).

Effingham County is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. As for Camden County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Effingham County will be playing in front of their home fans against South Effingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Effingham County's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Camden County will be up against Valdosta's rather soft defense (which has allowed five goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
