Basketball Recap: Lakeview Charter Comes Up Short

Lakeview Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Bishop Alemany Warriors and fell 79-42.

Loss or not, Lakeview Charter got some senior leadership from Evelyn Quinonez and Liliana Word. Quinonez went 9 of 20 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Word dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. That was a full 45.2% of Lakeview Charter's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Lakeview Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Bishop Alemany, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Lakeview Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-24 loss against Kennedy on the 3rd. As for Bishop Alemany, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Burroughs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bishop Alemany has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
