Soccer Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood lost against Immaculate Heart back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Oakwood Owls might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Immaculate Heart Pandas an easy 4-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Pandas are ranked 71st).

Oakwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Immaculate Heart, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Oakwood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Immaculate Heart will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Burroughs at 10:15 a.m. on January 3, 2025.
