Basketball Recap: Del Norte Takes a Loss

Del Norte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 44-35 to the Poway Titans. The Nighthawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 42-41.

Mya McGowan was a one-woman wrecking crew for Poway as she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 23 boards. The dominant performance gave McGowan a new career-high in rebounds. Raya Halonen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.

Del Norte's defeat dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Poway, their victory bumped their record up to 9-19.

Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poway, they will venture away from home to take on Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlsbad will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Poway surely won't give up without a fight.
