Basketball Recap: Union City Skates Past Iroquois with Ease

Union City hadn't done well against Iroquois recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Union City Bears claimed a resounding 49-12 win over the Iroquois Braves. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-8.

Union City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cheyenne Cummings, who posted ten points and five steals. Cummings is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Greer, who scored eight points and five rebounds.

Union City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests.
