Basketball Recap: Benicia Takes a Loss

After soaring to 59 points the game before, Benicia was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They were beaten by the Mt. Diablo Red Devils 41-14. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Mt. Diablo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carlesia Adams out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Those 18 points gave Adams a new career-high. Natalie Dance was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Benicia's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Mt. Diablo, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-8.

Benicia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-46 loss against Miramonte on the 15th. As for Mt. Diablo, they will face off against Berean Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
