Baseball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Comes Up Short

Grosse Pointe North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Liggett Knights.

Grosse Pointe North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DJ Edwards, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Grosse Pointe North's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for University Liggett, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Grosse Pointe North will head out to challenge St. Clair at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Saints have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for University Liggett, they will welcome Cardinal Mooney Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
