Basketball Recap: High Point Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

High Point Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 47-36 to the Lancaster County Christian Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in February.

Alicia Fisher was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards for Lancaster County Christian. That makes it five consecutive games in which Fisher has scored at least a third of Lancaster County Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Urenovitch, who posted 11 points and three steals.

High Point Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lancaster County Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

High Point Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Linville Hill at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Lancaster County Christian also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Ephrata Mennonite at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Lancaster County Christian's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Ephrata Mennonite's offense will have their work cut out for them.
