Soccer Game Preview: Cross Keys vs. Lakeside

The Cross Keys Phoenix will square off against the Lakeside Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cross Keys will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Thursday, then bounced right back against Stone Mountain on Friday. Everything went Cross Keys' way against Stone Mountain as Cross Keys made off with a 7-1 victory. The Phoenix haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lakeside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Paideia a 1-0 shutout on Friday.

Lakeside's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cross Keys, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Cross Keys beat Lakeside 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Cross Keys repeat their success, or does Lakeside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
