Soccer Game Preview: Dublin vs. California

For the first time this season, Dublin will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the California Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dublin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dublin's offense. They fell just short of College Park by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dublin came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 259th, while College Park are ranked 575th).

Meanwhile, California got the win against Acalanes on Tuesday by a conclusive 4-1.

Dublin's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for California, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Dublin skirted past California 1-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Will the Gaels repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
