Basketball Recap: Episcopal Academy Starts off Right with Win over West Philadelphia

Episcopal Academy took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They took down the West Philadelphia Speedboys 49-30. The Churchmen pushed the score to 43-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Speedboys cut but never quite recovered from.

West Philadelphia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kashay Ryder, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points. Devin Sadat was another key player, putting up eight points.

West Philadelphia's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Episcopal Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hill School at 4:00 p.m. on December 11th. As for West Philadelphia, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 30-28 victory against Cristo Rey Philadelphia on the 1st.
