Softball Recap: Sturgeon Has No Trouble Against Madison

While Sturgeon didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Madison Panthers with a sharp 13-3 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sturgeon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Madison, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sturgeon will venture away from home to square off against Community at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison, they will face off against Jamestown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
