Basketball Recap: Shenandoah Valley Comes Up Short

Shenandoah Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears and fell 49-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-35 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Felicia Bro, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 17 points along with five boards and three steals for Mahanoy Area. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bro has scored at least a third of Mahanoy Area's points. Ella Connolly was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

Shenandoah Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Mahanoy Area, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Shenandoah Valley will be playing at home against Tri-Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shenandoah Valley is facing Tri-Valley at the right time seeing as Tri-Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mahanoy Area, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-14 victory against Weatherly on the 28th.
