After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Aquinas, Hephzibah was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over the Cross Creek Razorbacks. Considering the Rebels' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

James Renew looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Hephzibah got a big performance out of Ayden Hughes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Devonye Person also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Hephzibah's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Cross Creek, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Hephzibah didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Augusta Prep Day on the 24th. As for Cross Creek, they will face off against Greenbrier at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
