Basketball Game Preview: Sonora Wildcats vs. Hughson Huskies

The Sonora Wildcats will head out to challenge the Hughson Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hughson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sonora, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but Sonora sidestepped Hilmar for a 45-42 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Taylor Faught was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ella Kaiser, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, Hughson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 62-26 loss at the hands of Escalon. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1070th, while the Cougars are ranked 476th).

Sonora's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Hughson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Sonora ended up a good deal behind Hughson when the teams last played back in January, losing 41-26. Can Sonora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
