Basketball Game Preview: Flintridge Prep Wolves vs. Valencia Vikings

The Flintridge Prep Wolves and the Valencia Vikings will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Valencia will be up against a hot Flintridge Prep team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Flintridge Prep breezed by Westridge to the tune of 55-14 on Friday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-6.

Meanwhile, Valencia had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 75-12 win over the Coyotes. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Coyotes are ranked 913th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valencia has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Flintridge Prep, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1.
