Basketball Game Preview: Rosemont Wolverines vs. Argonaut Mustangs

Rosemont hasn't had much luck against Argonaut recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rosemont Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Argonaut Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rosemont is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 65-30 loss at the hands of Liberty Ranch. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 844th, while the Hawks are ranked 179th).

Meanwhile, Argonaut came up short against Liberty Ranch on Monday and fell 59-48.

Rosemont will need to focus on slowing down Kaylee Avila, one of several Argonaut players who made an impact when they last played. She went 10 of 20 to rack up 23 points. Those 23 points gave Avila a new career-high. Alayna Critchfield was another key player, putting up six points along with 14 boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Argonaut smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Rosemont's record now sits at 11-15. As for Argonaut, their record is now 15-11.

Rosemont came up short against Argonaut when the teams last played back in January, falling 45-39. Can Rosemont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
