Basketball Recap: West Park Takes a Loss

West Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 56-41 to the Kennedy Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Cougars are ranked 143rd).

When it comes to explaining why West Park lost, don't look at Jill Ngo. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points. Annalyse Braden was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

West Park's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Kennedy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

West Park will face off against Cordova at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. West Park is facing Cordova at the right time seeing as Cordova is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Kennedy has already played their next match, a 60-40 defeat against Antelope on the 21st.
