Leonardtown got themselves on the board against La Plata on Friday, but La Plata never followed suit. They breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 58-0. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Raiders' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Leonardtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bradley Hager led the charge by rushing for 24 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 61 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. The dominant performance also gave Hager a new career-high in passer rating (142.5). Another rusher making a difference was Ryan Shawky, who rushed for 65 yards and one score.

Another reason for the win was Leonardtown's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Marquel Queen was especially locked on to La Plata's QB and sacked him twice. Leonardtown received some extra help from Grant Futch, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Leonardtown, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaden Gould, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Leonardtown's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for La Plata, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Leonardtown will take on McDonough at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Plata, they will challenge St. Charles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
