Soccer Game Preview: More vs. The Nueva School

More hasn't had much luck against The Nueva School recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The More Knights will venture away from home to square off against The Nueva School Mavericks at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

More's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Summit Shasta 5-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Black Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

More hit Summit Shasta with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Apollonia Cortese (3), Rebecca Bowdish, and Maddie Schaper.

Meanwhile, The Nueva School came tearing into Friday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 15-0 win. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Dragons are ranked 491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The Nueva School pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those five contests. As for More, their win bumped their record up to 8-2-2.

More came up short against The Nueva School in their previous meeting last Wednesday, falling 3-1. Can More avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
