Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Bears vs. Discovery Titans

For the second straight game, Mountain View will face off against Discovery. The Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Mountain View got the win against Discovery by a conclusive 10-3.

Mountain View got a great performance from Jake Rolley as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Rolley a new career-high.

At the plate, Mountain View's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Julian Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Hayes posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another was Nick Clayborn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Discovery, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
