Baseball Recap: York Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact York can now relate to. They fell 10-6 to the Lake Park Lancers on Wednesday. The Dukes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

York's loss dropped their record down to 15-20. As for Lake Park, they pushed their record up to 18-20 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

York and Lake Park could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Dukes (ranked 185th) will meet Hinsdale Central (ranked 50th) at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lake Park will take on Maine South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (89 vs. 29).
