Basketball Recap: Choctaw Falls Short Against Ranked Deer Creek

On Saturday, Choctaw faced Deer Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Choctaw Yellowjackets were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Deer Creek Antlers. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Antlers: they've now lost three in a row.

Choctaw's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Deer Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
