Baseball Game Preview: Eagle Grove Eagles vs. Central Springs Panthers

The Eagle Grove Eagles will head out to square off against the Central Springs Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle Grove has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eagle Grove took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against North Union, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles skirted past the Mustangs 16-14. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Central Springs lost 12-4 to Newman Catholic on Wednesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

With the victory, Eagle Grove broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7. As for Central Springs, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Eagle Grove couldn't quite finish off Central Springs when the teams last played back in May of 2019 and fell 12-10. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
