Baseball Recap: Forreston Comes Up Short

If Forreston was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Eastland on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Belvidere North Blue Thunder by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.

Mickey Probst put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only four walks, the fewest he's had over his last two games. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Probst wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Darin Greenfield, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Forreston's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Belvidere North, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-10-1.

Looking ahead, Forreston will challenge Eastland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belvidere North, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Belvidere at 4:30 p.m.
