Soccer Game Preview: Milton vs. Walton

The Milton Eagles will square off against the Walton Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton will be strutting in after a victory while Walton will be coming in after a defeat.

Milton's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. Everything went their way against Gainesville as they made off with a 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for Milton, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Walton was not quite Sprayberry's equal in the second half last Tuesday. They fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Walton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Sprayberry are ranked 25th).

Walton has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Milton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Milton skirted past Walton 1-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
