Basketball Recap: Arleta Comes Up Short

Arleta lost against La Salle back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs were dealt a 60-19 defeat at the hands of the Lancers. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-5.

Arleta lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Stefanie Acevedo, who posted six points.

La Salle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Casey Higgins out in front who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Higgins is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aislin Tamez Torres, who had nine points.

Arleta's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for La Salle, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Arleta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-35 win against Heritage Christian on the 5th. As for La Salle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-34 victory against El Dorado on the 5th.
