There's no place like home for Paulding County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the South Paulding Spartans on Monday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2025.

Not much got past Hunter Redden, who gave up just eight hits and racked up eight Ks to keep South Paulding off the board. Redden has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Paulding County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Liam Garrett, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Garrett's first of the season.

Paulding County's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for South Paulding, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Paulding County will take on Hiram at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Paulding, they will head out to square off against Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
