Baseball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside fell victim to Walnut Grove and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Walnut Grove Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost nine in a row.

Eastside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Shaw, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Walnut Grove, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Eastside and Walnut Grove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Eastside will take on East Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 215 places (271 vs. 56). Meanwhile, Walnut Grove (ranked 104th) will meet North Oconee (ranked 18th) at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
