Softball Recap: Westminster Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Westminster won against Lakeside on Wednesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Centennial Knights a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Westminster's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster will host Kell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial, they will welcome Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.11 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
