Soccer Recap: Piketon Comes Up Short

Piketon and Chesapeake combined for 24 shots on goal on Thursday, which explains the impressive nine total goals scored. The Redstreaks came up short against the Panthers, falling 8-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Piketon were already down 5-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Ben Dixon, which was the first he's scored this season.

Piketon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Chesapeake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piketon will welcome Waverly at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Piketon's defense better be ready for this one: Waverly have averaged an impressive 4.2 goals per game this season. As for Chesapeake, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against South Point at 7:00 p.m. Chesapeake will be up against South Point's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.2 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
