Recap: Linden Lions vs. Lathrop Spartans
This season hasn't been kind to the Linden Lions, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 57-24 loss at the hands of Lathrop. While losing is never fun, Linden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1110th, while Lathrop is ranked 199th).
Lathrop's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shakara Porter, who scored 12 points. Porter continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Delgado, who scored 10 points.
Linden's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lathrop, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Linden will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Lathrop, they will be playing at home against Kimball at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
