Gross Catholic never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Benson Bunnies with a sharp 12-0 victory. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Gross Catholic got a big performance out of Kennedi Ciaccio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those runs marked the first that Ciaccio has scored this season. Lauren Kosse was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Gross Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benson only posted an OBP of .200.

The victory made it two in a row for Gross Catholic and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Benson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Gross Catholic will welcome Blair at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benson, they are taking a road trip to square off against Omaha Central on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Bunnies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
